Recap October 10, 2011: Buffalo Talk touched upon the subject of looking back into the past, and due to that behavior not being able to move forward towards the future. As we all know today was Columbus day, and for most indigenous people on the planet, and more so Turtle Island, it has been a wound that has been hard to heal. But in order for us as indigenous people to heal, and move forward, Skuya talked about living in the moment. We have to realize that we cannot change the past, but WE CAN LEARN FROM IT. Of course, this is easier said than done, BUT it can be done if we have the courage to take the first step towards change; not only for ourselves, but for our families, and the larger community. Remember, pain in any form can be a door way to opportunity, but it is our responsibility to walk through the door, and to leave the pain behind. The choice is ours and no one else's. We do have choices, but the question remains, how bad do you want to change, so life can be better not only for yourself, but for everyone in your community, is the question. We have to begin to be honest with ourselves! If you take the first step, the Creator will help with the rest.
