The Eagle's Nest With Khadijah Abdullah

Greetings Family!

Sunday night's Eagle's Nest was absolutely wonderful, and progressive building. As some of you have noticed since the Eagle's Nest's inception the mission has been to build upon the elements of creating community. When I talk about "community" I am referencing it's foundation from a deeper perspective, thus under the surface, community creation is built upon support, and the support of others. We all get some where in life due to the support of others, hence someone recognized our gifts, and or weaknesses and came to our aid, or helped open a door towards our destiny! The essence of community is not just built with individuals, it's build with the essence of "doing"/ "helping".. The affirmation for this coming week is: "Be totality honest with myself" getting to the truth of matters. Praying for the ABILITY to be honest with oneself. What will be revealed for you??

Happy Pondering Family!

Buffalo Talk With Skuya Fasthorse From The Lakota Nation

Greetings Family,

Buffalo Talk With Skuya was wonderful as usual! She had a very special guest on Thursday evening,  Randy Bardwell  owner and, CEO of Native Threads. This is from their website:
"Native Threads products are the real thing. As one of Indian Country’s only Native-owned and operated clothing companies, Native Threads has been planting seeds and building a loyal family of customers throughout North America since 1990. Through grassroots efforts, such as powwows and direct sales, our seeds have taken root". http://www.nativethreads.com/about/
"Our designs are contemporary, yet the messages are very traditional, cultural, and conscious of the social, political and economic current trends that affect Native peoples. By combining these elements, our clothing helps give Native people clarity about who they are in this place and time. By providing constant reminders about our past, our products help bring to the surface the pride we carry inside of us"
What I love about Native Threads is that it's a company that uses the tool of clothing to preserve American Indian Culture, and heritage. In addition, they are really involved with the well-being of our Native youth. Now who could argue with that motto! In any age of existence, the youth of our world communities is so important, hence they are the individuals who will carry on ancient knowledge from the elders.Without the youth, civilization would not survive tradition, and culture, which is the glue that holds the fabric together. By the way, Check out one of their ROCKING t- shirts that Skuya Fasthorse, the host of Buffalo Talk is wearing!

Is that not a ROCKING t-shirt for the summer! For more information about Native Threads, check out their wonderful website for the latest summer gear http://www.nativethreads.com/
